Terms
What you agree to when you make a page or write on somebody else's.
Who can use it
You need to be 18 or older to make a page or to write on one.
One person owns a page. They can appoint a co-parent who can do almost everything they can, and they can hand the page over for good.
It is free at the moment
ElliePost costs nothing today, while we find out whether people want it. If we ever charge for anything we will tell you before you pay, and we will not take away something you already have without telling you first.
What you put here stays yours
Your words and your photos belong to you. You give us permission to store them and to show them to the people you chose, which is the only way the page can work at all. We do not sell them and we do not show them to anybody else.
Messages stay on the page
A message written on a page stays on that page, with the writer’s name on it, after they leave or are removed. A wall that empties when a relative goes is not worth keeping, and the family keeps this one.
If you wrote something and you want it taken down, write to hello@elliepost.com and we will take it down. That holds after you have left the page.
What the parents can do
The parents can hide or delete anything on their own page, remove a member, and stop somebody from writing again.
They can pause the page, which stops the page and the emails without deleting anything, and they can bring it back whenever they want.
What not to put here
Do not post something that is not yours to post.
Do not post anything abusive, threatening or against the law, and do not use a page to harass a family.
We can pause or take down a page that is being used to hurt somebody. We would rather write to you first, and we will where we can.
Registry links
A registry link on a page goes to another company. We do not run their site and we have no part in anything you buy there. Our page about registry links says whether we earn anything from them.
Keep your own copies
We take care with your photos. Even so, keep your own copies of the pictures that matter to you. No small service should be the only place a photograph of your child exists.
What we can promise
ElliePost is offered as it is. We cannot promise it will always be available or free of faults, and we are not liable for a loss that comes from using it. If something goes wrong, write to us and we will do what we can to put it right.
If these change
When these terms change we will change the date at the top of this page. The privacy page says what we keep and who can see it.
